The Hope Anchor Hotel - Rye

Quirky pet-friendly hotel with lovely mountain views.

Unique and fairly clean place, pleasant view over the Castle. Very impressed with deluxe king room and very welcoming and outstandingly accommodating staff in a warm and welcoming manner.

The hotel was located in the heart of the city.

We thoroughly enjoyed the deluxe queen room which was pet-friendly with an excellent view. The breakfast served was great value and tasty with perfect scrambled and a vegetarian option, for instance.

Just an optimal selection for a weekend jaunt in Rye, great value for money. The sirloin steak we had was the best we've ever tasted. Be aware of low ceilings in the bathroom if you're tall.

It was in a very central setting on a hill.

We had an absolutely amazing time in this lovely family run hotel in Rye. The location was marvellous and stunning, and we could reach Landgate by walking.

Charming stay with excellent breakfast

I had a very comfortable two nights with a spacious room that offered lovely views over the Sussex countryside. The breakfast was a highlight, with locally sourced ingredients that were freshly cooked and delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient. The bathroom facilities could use some improvement, as there were minor issues with the shower.

Restaurant had a good ambience, the service was good and the food choice and quality was excellent and competitively priced. The location was in my opinion the best in Rye at the top of a hill overlooking the harbour, very picturesque and within easy walking distance of the entire town.

My only dislike was the decoration of the room which was tired and old fashioned. The wallpaper was hanging off the wall above the door to the en suite and the green plain carpet was marked and did not look clean. On balance it was ok but in need of refurbishment.

I really loved the short stroll to beautiful spots like Lamb House and the very nice views from my room made for a good stay, bringing smiles as I explored the lovely medieval town filled with picturesque cottages and friendly cafes.

The Hope Anchor has a friendly and comfortable atmosphere with very a good service from the staff. I much enjoyed my stay and thought that the b&b was good value for money.

All of the staff were friendly, good location in a beautiful part of Rye and the bar was a friendly experiance with two good bitters on draught. My wife and I will return ti the hotel as soon as an oppotunity arises.

The wall paper in the bedroom requires resticking around the window and the mastic could be renewed in the bathroom.

We explored local beaches and went horse riding, a blast. The staff were super friendly and the breakfast was delicious, we started our day right. Just a heads up, there's no parking on-site, but it's easy to find nearby options.

One thing to improve is the bathroom facilities. Our shower had some issues that could use repair.
